About

The Reidville Area Fire District was organized in 1953. The department at the time operated out of Doc Lowe’s service station until 1964. In 1964 the department received a Charter from the State of South Carolina and a fire station was constructed by volunteers on land that was donated by Doc Lowe. In 1990 the “First Responder” Program was implemented and the first paid firefighters started in February of 1994.
